Celebrate father’s day at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. Since 1994, the BLACKHAWK VINTAGE CLASSIC has provided race fans of all ages the thrill and excitement of pre-war car racing in combination with a vintage car show and vintage aircraft that fly-in for display.
The Vintage Classic is sanctioned by the Vintage Sports Car Drivers Association (VSCDA). Over 120 cars from across the country participate annually in the Vintage Classic. The event features action showcasing renowned cars such as:
- Pre-War and Early Vintage
- Monoposto cars thru 1972
- FIA, WMC and Prototypes
- Historic Production GTP and monoposto Racing Formula “70”
- Historic Production GTU thru 1973
The weekend is filled with activities for the whole family. Airplanes from local airport clubs fly-in during the races for a special pancake breakfast. Spectators can meet the pilots and check-out the planes or walk around the pits to check out the race cars and drivers.
Proceeds from the gate benefit the Tebala Shriner’s Transportation fund. Throughout the years, the event has donated thousands of dollars to the fund. “Last year, approximately 200 young people from the local area served by the Tebala Shrine Center of Rockford received NO COST medical services at Shriners Hospitals for Children, including transportation to Chicago ( and elsewhere) for treatment. “
Don’t miss your opportunity this father’s day to come out to the track and watch some vintage racing with your dad… after all, these cars may not be around too much longer- they are vintage!!
